Wide wheels for the Schwimmwagen amphibious car in 1:35 scale for the Tamiya and AFV Club kits. The third variant, with the pattern of the Semperit brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of wide wheels for the German Schwimmwagen amphibious car in 1:35 scale from the maker DEF Model, in the variant with the pattern of the Semperit brand. This is not a vehicle kit but a replacement part. Wide tires with a coarse pattern are among the most conspicuous features of the whole car and in plastic they tend to be simplified. The manufacturer has designated the set for the Tamiya and AFV Club kits.
The Schwimmwagen was a small amphibious car derived from the people's car, fitted with a folding propeller at the rear. On land it was light and mobile, on water slow but functional, and it was exactly this double nature that made it a popular reconnaissance vehicle. To get the car through muddy ground it was often shod with wide tires with a coarse pattern, which had markedly better grip than ordinary road rubber.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry out; they are glued with super glue. Seat the wheels with the same tilt on both sides. A coarse pattern is brought out best with a dark wash run between the lugs and a fine dry brush on their tops. Apply mud mainly between the lugs of the pattern, not over the whole surface.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The Tamiya and AFV Club kits, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
