A set of weighted wheels for the South Korean K808 wheeled armored personnel carrier with drive to all eight wheels, 1:35 scale, the maker DEF Model. The set reproduces the tread pattern of the Michelin XZL type, that is, the coarse off-road pattern used on heavy military vehicles. This is not a vehicle kit but a replacement part. The manufacturer has designated the set for the Academy kit.
The K808 is a modern South Korean carrier designed for moving infantry quickly on the road and off it. It belongs to a family of vehicles with which the army filled out older tracked machines where range and speed matter more. An eight-wheeled vehicle has wheels along the whole length of the hull, so how they are rendered contributes to the overall impression of a model more than on four-wheeled cars.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry out; they are glued with super glue. Seat all the wheels with the flattened part pointing exactly downward and in the same plane. The coarse pattern stands out best with a dark wash run between the lugs and a fine dry brush on their tops. Apply the dust mainly to the lower part of the wheel and into the wheel arches.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model in its own right. The Academy kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
