A-STAND Radial Engines - a set for radial engines (2 x 30 ml and a wash)

A set from the A-STAND line by AMMO of Mig Jimenez, put together for painting the radial engines of aircraft models. The box states two paints of 30 ml and one wash. The paints of the A-STAND line are lacquers and the manufacturer intended them for the airbrush, not for a brush; a wash is a different kind of product and is worked with differently.

Use

• Paint the engine while it is accessible from all sides, that is before the cowling is closed and before the propeller is fitted.
• Apply the lacquer paints with an airbrush in thin coats, so that the differences between the finned cylinders and the crankcase are not lost.
• A wash runs into the recesses between the cooling fins and pulls their shape out; wipe the excess off before it dries.
• Stir the bottles, as the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Check the thinner and the drying time on the label of each bottle, as the paint and the wash are not thinned the same way.

Who it is for

For builders of aircraft with radial engines, from biplanes to machines of the Second World War. On such a model the engine is visible even once it is finished and tends to be the first place a viewer looks, so it pays to have the paints for it put together in advance. A volume of 30 ml is a large supply for an engine and will last many models. The shades in the set are not listed by name here.

Lacquer paints are flammable and have a strong smell. Work in a ventilated area, protect your airways, do not work near a source of ignition and keep them out of the reach of children.
