A set of acrylic modeling paints from the ATOM line by AMMO of Mig Jimenez. The box states six bottles of 20 ml and the subject of helicopters of the United States Marine Corps. ATOM is a water-based paint, which the manufacturer formulated for brush as well as airbrush and which dries to a matte surface.

Use

• With a brush straight from the bottle; for an airbrush, thin it with the acrylic thinner of the same manufacturer to the consistency of milk.
• The paint levels itself as it dries, which helps on the large smooth surfaces of a helicopter fuselage.
• Seal the matte finish with a gloss coat before the decals.
• Stir the bottle before every filling of the cup, as the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Do not thin it with lacquer or cellulose thinner.
• Once dry it takes washes and pigments, so wear is easy to work on it.

Who it is for

For modelers who build Marine Corps helicopters, that is machines such as the attack Cobras, the utility Hueys or the heavy Super Stallions. These machines work from a deck and from makeshift surfaces and tend to be thoroughly scuffed, so thinking about wear around the doors, the step areas and the engine outlets goes with the paints.
