Soviet fighter pilots, set number 2, 1:32 (Black Dog) A resin set of figures of Soviet Second World War fighter pilots in the large 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of figures of Soviet Second World War fighter pilots in the large 1:32 scale from the Czech maker Black Dog, listed as set number two. Under separate numbers the manufacturer also offers individual pilot figures and a first set. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and paints and glue are not included in the package. The large 1:32 scale gives room for genuinely detailed painting.
Soviet fighter pilots of the Second World War wore kit that changed markedly during the war: from the leather coats and hoods of the early years to later flight suits, leather helmets with goggles and parachute harnesses. Characteristic features were high boots and, on winter versions, fur trim. Because the cockpits of Soviet fighters were cramped, figures standing beside the aircraft usually complete a scene better than a crew inside it.
In the large 1:32 scale every flaw shows, so fill and sand the joints and wash the resin in warm soapy water before painting. Paint the face from a dark base toward the light areas and do the eyes last of all. Finish the leather on coats and helmets with gloss varnish only in spots, so that it does not look like plastic. A dark wash brings out the folds and a dry brush the raised areas. Paint the figures in parts before you assemble them.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
