A pre-cut set of masking templates for the cabin glazing of the American single-engined sport aircraft Piper PA-28 Cherokee 140 in 1:72 scale. It is made by the Czech brand Peewit, which cuts the templates from yellow paper-fabric adhesive tape. The box states the Cherokee kit from Kovozavody Prostejov as the target. The package holds self-adhesive masks, not plastic parts.
The Piper PA-28 Cherokee is a low-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear and a flat four-cylinder engine, built from the end of the 1950s, which became one of the most widespread training and sport aircraft in the world. The 140 version came about as an undemanding machine for training and for flying clubs. The large glazed cabin with its side doors is at once the most striking and the most laborious part of the model, because the frames are narrow and the glazed areas large.
The masks are lifted off the carrier sheet with the point of a sharp modeling knife, carried with pointed tweezers and pressed down with a sharpened wooden stick. It is precisely the pressing down all the way round that decides the result: wherever paint creeps under, the edge comes out blurred. Degrease the canopy first, apply a thin coat of the frame color and lift the masking pieces the same day, while the adhesive has not hardened. Use a wooden stick on a clear part, not a knife, so that no scratch is left behind.
This is an add-on for a model, not an aircraft kit. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
