The Martin PBM Mariner in 1:144 scale is a finished painted collector's model of the large US Navy patrol seaplane, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A finished collector's item, assembled and painted, from the Junior 1:144 range, the manufacturer's part number PIXJ008007. The model is unpacked and stood in a display case - no modeling work awaits it. For this range the manufacturer gives a metal fuselage with the wing and other parts in plastic. Check the coloring, the markings and the extent of the package on the box.
The PBM Mariner was a twin-engine patrol bomber seaplane of the US Navy. It was the largest twin-engine flying boat of its day and, beside the better known Catalina, the second most numerously built military seaplane of all. Its recognition marks are the gull wing with the engines at its bend and the raised tailplane tips. The Mariner patrolled over the Atlantic and the Pacific alike, searched for submarines and took part in rescue flights over the sea; after the war it stayed in service for a number of years more before newer types replaced it.
On a large aircraft in 1:144 what decides is the cleanliness of the printing, the seating of the engine nacelles and the smoothness of the joint between the wing and the fuselage. A seaplane has no landing gear, so it stands on a base or on a stand - check whether one is present on the box. The model is intended for display, it is not a toy: the metal fuselage is heavy and a fall from a height will damage the thin plastic parts.
This is a finished model, not a kit. Check the workmanship, the assembly, the painting and the extent of the package on the box.
