The Petlyakov Pe-8 in 1:144 scale is a finished painted collector's model of the only Soviet four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A finished collector's item, assembled and painted, from the Junior 1:144 range, the manufacturer's part number PIXJ008005. The model is unpacked and stood in a display case - no modeling work awaits it. In this range the fuselage is, according to the manufacturer, metal, with the wing and the small parts in plastic. Check on the box what coloring and markings the piece carries and what exactly is in the package.
The Pe-8 was the only Soviet four-engine heavy bomber that reached series production during the Second World War. It came about from a 1934 requirement for a replacement for the old Tupolev TB-3, and the prototype flew in December 1936 still under the designation TB-7; it took its name from its designer Vladimir Petlyakov, who died in 1942. Only tens of machines were built, so it was a rare exception in an otherwise tactical Soviet Air Force. The Pe-8 bombed Berlin as early as August 1941, and in May 1942 it carried the foreign minister Molotov to talks in Britain and the United States - that is, across territory held by the enemy.
On a four-engine bomber in 1:144 what decides is the cleanliness of the printing, the seating of all four engine nacelles and the smoothness of the joint between the wing and the fuselage. The piece belongs in a display case, not in the hand: metal has its weight and in a fall it is the thin plastic parts that suffer most. Out of direct sunlight the printing will stay rich even after years.
This is a finished model, not a kit. Check the workmanship, the assembly, the painting and the extent of the package on the box.
