Mini Cooper 1.3i in 1:12 scale from Tamiya. A large kit with a detailed engine, an opening hood, plated parts and rubber tires.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the classic Mini Cooper in the version with the 1.3 liter fuel-injected engine. The large scale allows a level of detail unreachable in the usual 1:24 kits: the finished car measures around 256 mm and has an elaborate engine bay, a chassis with suspension and a complete interior with dashboard, seats and door cards. The hood can be built open.
The Mini was built from the end of the 1950s, and in the 1990s the last series were running out, on which fuel injection replaced the carburetor. It is exactly such a car that the kit captures. The transverse four-cylinder engine with the gearbox beneath it, wheels pushed out into the corners of the body and rubber suspension gave the car the legendary handling that the Mini also proved in competition.
Spray the body in thin coats and let it dry thoroughly between them, because in a large scale every imperfection stands out. Do not sand or chemically treat the plated parts, as that destroys the surface. Finish the engine bay before you cover it up. Do not glue the rubber tires with ordinary cement for plastic, as it will not join them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
