Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American battleship USS New Jersey in the small 1:1200 scale from the German manufacturer Revell. The Starter Kit edition is a complete starter package: according to the manufacturer, basic shades of water-thinnable acrylic paints, a brush, cement for plastic, decals and an instruction sheet are added to the parts. Revell has used the 1:1200 scale for ships for a long time, so the model can be placed in one display case with further ships of the same range.
The New Jersey, with the hull designation BB-62, belonged to the four battleships of the Iowa class, the fastest battleships that ever put to sea. She entered service in 1943 and carried nine 406 mm guns in three triple turrets. She went through combat in the Pacific in the Second World War, then through the wars in Korea and Vietnam, and in the 1980s the US Navy brought her back into service after a modernization in which she also received guided missiles. She is the most decorated American battleship and today she serves as a museum.
Separate the small parts with nippers or a sharp knife, not by breaking them. Spray the hull with a filler primer and paint it in horizontal bands, setting the decks apart separately. The gun turrets and the superstructures are more easily painted on their own and are cemented on only at the end. A dark wash in the engraved lines and a simple base representing the surface of the water will help the contrast.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The basic paints, the brush and the cement are part of this package according to the manufacturer, other accessories are not, unless stated otherwise.
