A kit of a silhouette racing car built to Group 5 rules. The model is 192 mm long and includes a detailed cockpit with a roll cage, an elaborate chassis with working suspension detail, racing wheels with wide slick tires and a driver figure. The decals offer two race numbers.
Group 5 allowed the car to keep nothing but its silhouette and let everything else be rebuilt, which led to the wildest era of circuit racing in the 1970s. The Celica in this form debuted in 1977 in the German championship with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine of around two liters and more than 500 hp. That same year it managed to beat the Porsches, an exceptional result for Japanese engineering in Europe.
Group 5 color schemes rest on the decals, so prepare a smooth gloss base and, once the decals are down, cover the body with clear coat so that the edges of the sheet disappear. Spray the roll cage separately before you seat it in the cockpit. Do not glue the slick tires with cement for plastic. The wide fenders take a fine polish well, because every imperfection shows on them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
