An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from the Japanese brand Hasegawa. The box defines it as a Toyota Supra Turbo A70 in the colors of the Australian touring car championship of 1990, that is a Group A circuit racer rather than a road coupe. The build therefore includes a racing interior with a roll cage and a body with aerodynamic additions.
For homologation into Group A the third-generation Supra with the A70 code was given the special Turbo-A version with an inline six-cylinder engine of three liters and a single turbocharger. It was built only in limited numbers. In the Australian touring car championship of 1990 the works Toyota Team Australia entered a Supra Turbo-A for John Smith; the car had run in Japan before that. Against lighter rivals it was weighed down by the weight rules of Group A at the time, and Toyota ended its works program after the 1990 season.
Paint the body only after the parting seams are filled and smoothed; in racing schemes the base shows through under every decal. Apply the base color with an airbrush in thin coats, then overcoat with a gloss clear coat, lay on the sponsor decals and go over them with a second layer of clear so that the edges disappear. Finish the roll cage and the interior before you join the body to the chassis. Leave the tires matte and the wheel rims glossy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
