An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Volkswagen Beetle in the sedan (Limousine) configuration of 1968 in 1:24 scale from Revell. The model faithfully captures the characteristic rounded body with a fine surface texture, and it offers a multi-part flat-four (boxer) engine, a detailed interior and a range of chrome parts such as the bumpers, the wheel covers, the handles and the mirrors. Rubber tires and a set of decals with various license plates are usually included too.
The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most successful and most-produced cars in history. Characteristic is its air-cooled flat-four engine mounted at the rear and driving the rear wheels. The configuration of the end of the 1960s is among the classic forms of the car, with round headlights and an unmistakable silhouette. The Beetle became an icon of popular mobility and of popular culture all over the world.
Cut the parts off with a sharp knife and glue them with thin cement for plastic. Spray the body with primer and then with an airbrush in a single-color finish; the smooth surfaces of the Beetle will reveal every irregularity, so smooth the surface carefully. Finish the interior and the engine before closing up the body. Pick out the chrome parts and underline the panel gaps and trim with a fine wash. Finally polish the model for the typical shine of a people's car.
