An injection-molded plastic kit of a Japanese sports coupe in 1:25 scale in the Model Set edition, that is together with modeling paints, a brush and cement. The kit is based on the car driven by the character Brian in the first part of the Fast & Furious film series. The box states a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a decal sheet with striking graphics for the body. The manufacturer places the set in the third grade of its difficulty scale.
The second-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse was built from the first half of the 1990s and belonged to the wave of Japanese coupes that conquered the American market at that time. The car had a drawn-out front end, a low roof line and, in the stronger versions, a turbocharged four-cylinder. It is precisely these cars that stand at the beginning of the tuning culture of the late 1990s – wide side skirts, a large rear wing and bold graphics belong to their image.
The main work here is in the paint and in the decals. Lay the light green body color over a white base, otherwise the shade will not stand out. Place the large areas of graphics on a gloss surface and help yourself with a decal softener, so that the film settles into the recesses and the edges – over the side skirt and the rear wing it is almost impossible without one. Drybrushing will bring the wheels and the exhaust to life; bond the clear parts with glue for clear plastics so that the windows do not fog.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The set holds paints, a brush and cement; other accessories are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
