A plastic kit of the American Peterbilt 359 Conventional tractor unit in 1:25 scale from Revell. It is a tractor without a semi-trailer, in the classic conventional configuration, that is with the engine ahead of the cab. The box states chrome-plated parts — the grille, the fuel tanks, the wheels and a pair of exhaust stacks — and tires made of a soft black compound. The hood tilts and uncovers the engine. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Peterbilt 359 is a conventional long-haul tractor that was built in North America from the late sixties and became one of the icons of American long-distance trucking. Its hallmarks are the tall aluminum hood, the long wheelbase, the pair of vertical exhausts behind the cab and a powerful six-cylinder diesel engine. The 359 was built to order: some ran with a short cab in regional work, others with a sleeper on long-haul routes.
Finish and paint the frame and the drivetrain before you seat the cab. Do not paint the chrome-plated parts all over — it is enough to take the chrome off the glued surfaces so that the cement holds. Use a gloss shade on the cab paint and clear coat over the decals so that their edges do not show. Pick out the chassis and the tanks with a dark wash in the recesses, otherwise they will stay flat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
