A large-scale plastic model of the SR25 variant of the rifle from the AR-15/M16/M4 weapon family in 1:3 scale from Trumpeter. It is a static kit in injection-molded plastic, not a working weapon. The model faithfully captures the shape and the breakdown of the real rifle and usually comes with a stand and illustrated instructions.
The SR25 is a precision rifle of larger caliber derived from the AR-15/M16/M4 design family, used in the precision (sniper) role. It shares the modular layout and the direct gas impingement system with its smaller relatives but differs in its more robust build and longer barrel. The large 1:3 scale makes it possible to show the details of the sights, the stock and the optics mounting system.
Glue the parts with plastic cement and clean the mold seams carefully, as they are pronounced in a large scale. The metal surfaces are painted with an airbrush in shades of gunmetal and black, while the matte plastic parts of the weapon come out well in dark matte shades. Pick the fine edges out with a dry brush and display the finished model on the stand supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is not a working weapon. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
