Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the open racing Porsche 917/10 in 1:32 scale from the German manufacturer Revell. The package of the Model Set edition is put together so that the build can start right away: besides the parts of the model it holds, according to the manufacturer, basic shades of water-thinnable acrylic paints, a brush and cement for plastic.
The 917/10 version was created for the North American Can-Am series, where the racing was not about endurance but about pure power. Against the closed coupes of the 917 range it was given an open spyder body and, above all, a turbocharged twelve-cylinder with the cylinders flat-mounted, whose output ran in the order of hundreds of kilowatts. It was with this car that the long dominance of McLaren in Can-Am ended: the 1972 season title went to George Follmer in the colors of the Penske team after Mark Donohue, who developed the car, was injured.
The open body leaves a view into the cockpit, so finish and paint the interior and the frame before you seat the shell. A glossy racing finish calls for a smooth filler primer and thin coats; the decals will then settle better and will not silver. The cooling grilles and screens come out well when you go over them with a dark wash after painting. The front and rear downforce elements are thin, so cut them away carefully.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The basic paints, the brush and the cement are part of this package according to the manufacturer, other accessories are not, unless stated otherwise.
