The Starter Kit from Revell in 1:32 scale from the Revell Classics range (reissued classic molds). It is intended for beginners and as a gift: besides the injection-molded plastic model it also contains basic paints (Aqua Color), a brush and Contacta glue – everything in one package, with nothing else to buy. The subject is the Porsche 917/10, one of the most powerful circuit racers in history. The open spyder body is an advantage – the detailed cockpit and the mechanicals stay visible even once the model is built, and the model also contains a driver figure.
The Porsche 917/10 was a turbocharged racing car for the American Can-Am series of the early 1970s. The open spyder with its enormous power was among the most brutal circuit cars of its day, and together with Roger Penske's team it utterly dominated the Can-Am series. It ranks among the legends of the Porsche marque.
Cut the parts carefully from the sprues and glue them with the enclosed cement. Paint and assemble the multi-part engine and the cockpit before you seat the body – on an open car they stay visible. Finish the body with a gloss coat for a striking look; the enclosed paints will get you through the base with a brush, while an airbrush and a final clear coat suit a perfectly smooth shine.
Unlike ordinary kits, this Starter Kit set contains paints, a brush and glue. The model is nevertheless supplied unassembled and unpainted.
