An injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian AB 41 armored car in a box which, according to the packaging, adds Bersaglieri figures and ties the scene to El Alamein. The Italian brand Italeri is closest to Italian equipment, and this combination of a vehicle with figures allows a small scene to be built without further accessories. The manufacturer states neither the number of parts, the number of figures nor the number of marking options.
The Autoblinda AB 41 was an Italian armored car with all-wheel drive, two driving stations and a turret with a 20 mm gun supplemented by a machine gun. It was designed for reconnaissance and patrol duty, and thanks to rear steering it could pull out of a dangerous spot quickly without turning around. It was deployed in North Africa, in the Balkans and on the Eastern Front. The Bersaglieri are Italian light infantry with their characteristic cockerel feathers on the helmet; at El Alamein in 1942 they were among the units that bore the main weight of the fighting.
Finish the chassis and the inside of the turret first, because once the body is glued you can no longer reach them. Fit the wheels only after painting, so that they can be masked easily. The sand shade with faded areas is typical of the North African setting: after the base color put a lighter filter on the upper surfaces, a wash into the recesses and finally dust pigments on the fenders and the underside. Paint the figures separately and place them on the vehicle only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
