A crate for a US flamethrower 1:35 by Plusmodel: two resin parts and decals. An accessory for a diorama, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A flamethrower was not carried to a unit in somebody's hand but in a transport crate, and it was that crate that then lay around at a firing position or on the bed of a truck. On a diorama it is an object that explains the armament of the figures without the weapon itself having to be shown. The set contains two resin parts and decals with period markings, which set the crate apart from an ordinary box. It is not a kit but an accessory for a scene.
According to the manufacturer the package contains two resin parts and a decal sheet. The weapon, paints and glue are not included. The parts have to be cut from the casting blocks.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release residue disappears from the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and true the surfaces up with a file, and sand with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. Apply the decals onto a gloss surface and then unify the whole with matte varnish. Leave the wood painted unevenly and let a dark penetrating coat flow into the joints between the boards, so that the crate does not look like a solid block.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
