1:35 Churchill Mk IV AVRE with the SBG bridge is a plastic kit of the engineer tank from AFV Club. On the model the bridge can be raised and lowered on cables.

An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Taiwanese manufacturer AFV Club. Besides the tank it contains a newly developed SBG assault bridge with frames, pulleys and a winch, and according to the manufacturer the bridge on the model is raised and lowered on cables. The tank has metal spring suspension for the running gear, the Petard spigot mortar and applique armor plates. The manufacturer states a choice of markings for five units. The number of parts is not stated here.
AVRE is the abbreviation for the armored vehicle of the British engineers. It came about by converting the Churchill: a Petard spigot mortar with a large demolition charge and a range of only about 140 meters replaced the gun. With it the crew blew apart bunkers, walls and antitank obstacles. The vehicles were part of the equipment of the 79th Armoured Division, whose unusual machines came to be known as Hobart's Funnies, and they went into action with the 1st Assault Engineer Brigade at the Normandy landings in June 1944. The SBG bridge was one of the attachments: the folding structure, over nine meters long, weighed about four tons, carried up to forty tons and crossed a bomb crater, an antitank ditch or a sea wall.
Finish and paint the intricate running gear of the Churchill before the side skirts are closed. Try the movement of the bridge dry and only then glue it, because the clearance in the mechanism gets smaller once it is varnished. Paint the bridge and the tank separately, otherwise you will not reach the inner surfaces of the structure. A dark green shade suits British vehicles from Normandy; keep the weathering restrained: dust on the running gear, rubs on the edges and traces left by the cables.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
