The corner of a demolished factory building in 1:35 scale forms a ready base for a vignette with one vehicle or with a small group of figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
A compact kit from Royal Model in which plaster masonry meets resin parts. The result is the corner of an industrial building with piers, window openings and exposed brick bonding, built straight onto a base, so the builder need not puzzle over a baseboard.
During the Second World War factory sites were both a target and an obstacle. Tall windows and massive piers turned after a hit into a labyrinth in which it was possible to defend building by building, and it was exactly such fighting that made Stalingrad, Cassino and the Ruhr towns of the end of the war famous. A brick corner also gives a scene a firm frame: two walls meeting at a right angle screen off the background and force the viewer to look where the builder wants.
The plaster elements are absorbent, so seal them with a primer before painting, otherwise they will drink up all the pigment. They can be cut with a saw or a knife, but fine dust is created in the process, so protect your breathing. Modeling putty or a thin plaster slurry will close the joints and the transitions between the materials. In color, a gray base works well, with brick tones applied over it with a sponge and finally dust pigments into the corners.
The base is cast unpainted; you buy paints, putties and glues separately.
