Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from AFV Club capturing the anti-aircraft gun of 4 cm caliber known as the Bofors, carried in German service under the designation Flak 28. It is a gun on its own on a wheeled carriage, not a vehicle, so it offers itself as an addition to a diorama as well as a model of its own for the display case.
The 40 mm Bofors was the most widespread anti-aircraft gun of its class and both sides used it during the Second World War. The German army came to it through captured and license-built weapons and took it into service as the Flak 28 alongside its own calibers. The gun fired in rapid succession at low-flying targets, traveled on a two-axle carriage and was set down on spread outriggers to fire. Watch out for a mix-up: in German service the designation Flak 28 was also carried by the smaller 2 cm Oerlikon gun, so the number alone does not decide the caliber.
Leave the thin carriage and seat parts on the sprue as long as possible so that they do not warp, and sand the joints with the part tried dry. The barrel and the cooling jacket want careful lining up, because they are the most visible parts of the model. Whether a dark yellow or a dark gray base is right depends on the period, and the metal parts of the gun come alive with light edge highlighting. Dust and fine wear on the outriggers set the gun into the terrain better than heavy mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
