A model of a herbivorous dinosaur from the new line that Tamiya has built around parts that snap together, that is without glue. The plastic is colored and the finished model measures around 134 millimeters. Besides the animal itself, the package contains a base part, two-dimensional human silhouettes for size comparison, a paper sheet with vegetation for the background and a color information leaflet.
Fukuisaurus is a herbivorous dinosaur described from finds in the Japanese prefecture of Fukui, which is among the richest paleontological sites in the country. It lived roughly 120 million years ago and grew to a length of about five meters. The model was created under the expert supervision of the local museum and university, so the shape of the body and its stance match the current state of knowledge.
The kit does without glue, but it pays to polish the joints, because they show in colored plastic. Painting is possible, although the model works without it too: a dark wash in the folds of the skin and a dry brush on the back give the surface depth. Make use of the human silhouettes and the vegetation sheet, because only then does the scale become clear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, but no glue is needed to put it together. Paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
