Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the famous German 88 mm caliber gun in the Flak 36 version together with a railway flatcar and a piece of track, in 1:35 scale. According to the manufacturer a metal gun barrel is included in the package. It comes from a newer mold of 2024. The kit therefore offers a whole scene: the gun, the wagon and the track it stands on.
The eighty-eight was originally an anti-aircraft gun, but it made its name above all as an anti-tank weapon, because its high muzzle velocity and flat trajectory gave a good chance of a hit at long range. The Flak 36 version had a sectional barrel on which only the worn part could be replaced. Transport by rail on a flatcar was a common way of moving the heavy weapon quickly, and in the defense of the Reich it was also fired straight from such wagons.
Finish the gun carriage and its moving parts before you set the whole assembly on the wagon. Degrease the metal gun barrel and prime it, otherwise paint will not hold on the smooth metal. The wooden floor of the wagon looks best after thin glazes and a wash, not after an opaque color. It pays to rust the track with pigments and, conversely, to polish the railhead down to bare metal, because that is exactly where the shine stays. Do not forget that the wagon stands on the ground, so the underside deserves dust as well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
