1:35 German Sprengboot Tornado is a plastic kit of the German explosive boat of the end of the Second World War in 1:35 scale from the maker Mikromir. The craft stood on two floats from a Ju 52 aircraft and was driven by the pulsejet engine of the V-1 missile.

A short-run multimedia kit in 1:35 scale, the Mikromir part number 35-010 from the Ukrainian maker. According to the manufacturer the package holds four large float halves, three sprues of plastic, a sprue of clear parts, a photo-etched fret and film for the instrument dials. The package contains neither decals nor markings - the model is finished purely by spraying. Despite its short-run origin the build is reasonably straightforward.
The Tornado was one of the improvised projects of the last months of the war. The Kriegsmarine built an explosive boat out of what was at hand: the load-bearing part was made up of two large floats from the seaplane version of the Ju 52, between them stood a cabin and a charge of around seven to eight hundred kilograms of explosive. Propulsion was provided by a pulsejet engine, the same type as on the V-1 missile, and the boat reached a speed of around eighty-five kilometers per hour. The pilot was to guide the craft onto the target and get away, with the boat covering the last stretch under remote guidance. A single example was built and tested and destroyed during the Allied advance.
A few places want attention. Fill and sand the seams on the floats, some of which the cabin will cover. The windows fit imprecisely, so dry-fit them and sand to fit. Fill sink marks on the front bumper with filler. The rudders are left and right, are not interchangeable, and the grooves of the control surfaces must point toward the center of the boat. The clear film for the dials is visible only if you drill through the photo-etched panel. Spray the hull with a primer coat and apply the paint with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
