A plastic kit of the German super-heavy tank E 100 with the turret of the Krupp company in 1:35 scale, manufacturer's part number 35A015 from Amusing Hobby, a new tool from 2017. The package contains plastic frames and a decal sheet with generic German markings and one hypothetical option. This is a configuration that was never built in this form: the hull of the E 100 was made, but the turret never sat on it, so the model combines the hull with a turret designed at the time but never realized.
The E 100 was the last German super-heavy tank project. The Adler company built the hull from 1943, the main weapon was to be a 12.8 cm gun, interchangeable for a 15 cm gun, and a short 7.5 cm gun and a machine gun were to be the secondary armament. The projected combat weight exceeded one hundred twenty tons and the crew was to number six men. The lighter turret of the Krupp company, known as the Maus II, was accepted for the E 100 in 1944. Only the hull without a turret was finished; in 1945 the British found it, took it away to Britain for examination and later scrapped it.
The large flat surfaces of a super-heavy tank are a trap for painting: without shading they look like a piece of plastic. Lay the base shade down in two or three brightnesses, darken the lower areas and lighten the upper ones. Finish the running gear while the hull is still open. Build the weathering up in layers: a wash into the recesses, then dust pigments from the bottom upward and finally worn metal on the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
