A model of a horse-drawn farm wagon with a wooden tank in 1:35 scale, that is, the wagon on which water and slurry were carried around a farm and which was used for hay and everything else the rest of the year. It is an accessory for a scene, not a kit of combat hardware: it belongs in a yard, in the fields and on the roads along which an army and farmers moved side by side.
Horse-drawn farm wagons formed the backbone of rural transport right up to the middle of the twentieth century, and in many countries they were used long after tractors appeared. In wartime dioramas they have a particular value: they show that the battlefield was not an empty landscape but a place where people lived and farmed, and that contrast is exactly what makes a scene strong as storytelling.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so that traces of mold release agent disappear. Cut off the casting blocks and level the surfaces; sand with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate. Build wood on a base tone, over which you lay thin irregular streaks of a lighter and a darker color along the grain, and pick the joints out with a dark seeping coat. Leave the metal wheel hoops and straps rusty and dirty the underside of the wagon with mud, because the wagon moved along field tracks.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and it is an accessory, not a kit of combat hardware. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
