This is not a model of a vehicle but a building element for dioramas: an interior door in 1:35 scale. The Ukrainian brand Spalah prints these accessories with 3D technology from photopolymer resin and supplies them on print supports, unpainted. On a door it is the profile of the frame and of the panels that counts, and it is precisely these shapes that printing keeps crisper than injection-molded plastic.
A door does two things in a diorama. It closes off the view, so that the scene looks as though it carries on further, and at the same time it offers the strongest dramatic element an interior has: a door forced off its hinges, shot through or left ajar says more about a setting than broken furniture. It suits scenes in apartment houses, in schools and in official buildings, and it combines well with windows and furniture from the same line.
Wash the parts in warm soapy water, cut them from the supports and sand the marks smooth with fine paper; protect your breathing while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After primer, give the door a color to match the period and the place: older interiors tend to have oil paints with a high gloss, newer ones flat ones. The most convincing detail is the wear by the handle and along the bottom edge, where it gets kicked. If the door is to be damaged, make the break only after painting and leave it light, like freshly broken wood.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and further parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
