A plastic model kit of a hypothetical German super-heavy tank destroyer on the E 100 chassis in 1:35 scale, Amusing Hobby part number 35A017. The box brings plastic sprues, photo-etched parts and a decal sheet. This is a configuration that never existed: the wartime design was called something else and stayed on paper, and the large rear superstructure the model carries comes from later interpretations, not from a surviving drawing. The model therefore stands on the border between historical hardware and free reconstruction.
The actual starting point was a design for an assault gun on the E 100 chassis that Krupp and Adler submitted in 1944; a wooden mock-up at one-fifth scale was to be built in May of that year, and the project then ended. A large-caliber gun was planned, inspired by the real 17 cm gun. The designation Jagdpanzer E-100 is a later name, not a wartime one, and the layout of the superstructure is not known from surviving documents. The E 100 chassis itself really was built, but only as a hull that never received any armament.
The large flat surfaces of the superstructure take modulation well: vary the base color in brightness according to the height of the surface, otherwise the model looks like one solid lump. Finish and paint the running gear while the hull is still open. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and degrease them before painting. Polished bare metal suits the edges, a wash the recesses and dust pigments the lower areas.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
