The Staghound Mk.III armored car is a plastic kit of the armored car with a turret from the Crusader tank in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Staghound armored car in the Mk.III version in 1:35 scale from Bronco. The Mk.III is the least usual of the whole series, because its Staghound hull received a turret from a British cruiser tank and with it substantially heavier armament.
The Staghound was an armored car that the United States built exclusively for British and Allied units; the US Army itself never adopted it. It had four-wheel drive, two gasoline engines and a roomy hull. The cars served with reconnaissance units in Italy and in northwestern Europe, and for many years after the war as well. The Mk.III version came about as a field modification that was later officially recognized: a turret from the Crusader tank with a 75 mm gun was seated on the hull. The vehicle thus gained firepower close to a tank while staying wheeled and fast. It is exactly that combination that makes the Mk.III the most interesting-looking form of the whole series.
Cut the small parts off with a sharp knife right on the sprue and glue them with a thin cement for plastic. Paint the chassis and the inside of the hull before you close the hull up. The tank turret has a different surface from the hull of the car, so give it a different shade of wear, to make it clear that this is a conversion. Seat the gun barrel on the center line and drill the muzzle out if it is not open. Fit the tires only after the hubs have been painted.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
