An injection-molded plastic kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer Miniart. The boxing covers one particular unit, assault artillery brigade number 281, and brings decals for four marking options including a winter finish. Photo-etched metal and clear parts are in the package.
The Sturmgeschütz III was the most numerously produced German assault gun and was built on the chassis of the proven Panzer III tank. It had no rotating turret and the weapon aimed through the front wall of the fighting compartment, which made it low, less demanding to produce and harder to hit. The Ausf.G version is the last and most widespread one, built from December 1942. It carries the long-barreled StuK 40 gun, a reworked superstructure and better protection for the commander. Assault guns originally served as infantry support, but with the long barrel they also became an effective anti-tank weapon.
Finish and paint the running gear and the inside of the hull before you close the hull up, because you will not reach them later. Plastic parts are bonded with liquid cement, photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a primer before painting, and only then the camouflage coat. Build the weathering from the bottom up: first a dark wash into the recesses and seams, then a dry brush on the edges and finally dust and mud pigments on the running gear and on the underside of the hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
