This injection-molded plastic kit captures the German late-production StuG.III Ausf.G assault gun and the StuH42 assault howitzer in a 2 in 1 release. The key strength is the full interior: the engine, the transmission and the fighting compartment, which can be displayed once the build is finished. The model holds workable individual link tracks and photo-etched parts. From one box you choose whether to build the gun version or the howitzer version.
The StuG.III was the most widespread German assault gun of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the Panzer III tank. The late-production Ausf.G version carried a 75 mm gun and a range of late production changes. The StuH42 was a related variant armed with a 105 mm assault howitzer, intended for destroying fortifications and supporting infantry. Both vehicles formed the backbone of German self-propelled artillery support in the closing stages of the war.
Given the full interior, work from the inside out: first the engine, the transmission and the fighting compartment, which are painted and weathered before the hull is closed up, because afterwards you will not reach them. Take your time over the running gear and the workable tracks. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue and the plastic with thin modeling cement. Pick out the interior with a wash and dry brushing, and finish the exterior with pigments and a hint of wear on the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
