US 300 gallon fuel tank, 1:35 from Plusmodel: a resin accessory kit of 16 parts, decals included.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory in 1:35 scale represents the American three hundred gallon fuel storage tank, that is a stationary tank on legs of the kind that stood at refueling points, workshops and farms. The package holds sixteen resin parts, decals and building instructions. It is not a vehicle model but an element of a scene in its own right, around which a whole supply or workshop diorama can be built.
Storage tanks of this type were used by the army and in civilian service alike. The cylindrical vessel stood on a simple frame high enough for fuel to run down into a jerrycan or a vehicle tank by gravity. Hence their typical appearance: the tank above, the tap and hose below. They appear in photographs at field airfields, repair workshops and supply points, and in postwar service they lasted for decades.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that any residue from production disappears from the surface. Cut off the remains of the supports with a sharp blade or a saw and level the surface with a file, protecting your breathing while sanding. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. The tank comes into its own when you add rust at the saddle of the frame and traces of spilled fuel below the tap over the base shade. Apply the decals onto a smooth glossy base.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
