An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M1A1 pack howitzer of 75 mm caliber in 1:35 scale. This is a stand-alone model of the gun, not an add-on set. The maker is the Riich Models brand. For this boxing, foreign retailers give a finely detailed gun with its carriage, equipment and decals; they place the build among the moderately demanding ones. The length of the finished model is given as about eleven centimeters, so the gun is a small one.
The M1A1 is a light American howitzer of 75 mm caliber, designed so that it could be broken down into separate loads and carried over mountain terrain on animals, and later dropped by parachute as well. That is exactly what made it the gun of the airborne and mountain units of the Second World War. The gun was worked by hand, it could be aimed in both direct and indirect fire, and a number of allied armies used it as well.
Glue the plastic with a thin cement for polystyrene, which draws into the joint by capillary action. Glue the thin carriage parts on a flat surface so that they stay in plane, and do not rush the assembly: with towed guns every deviation in the stance of the trail legs shows in the result. Apply a primer before painting. Put a gloss clear coat under the decals and seal the finished work with a matte clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
