The plastic kit 1:35 UH-1B Huey from Trumpeter captures an early version of the legendary American Bell utility helicopter of the Vietnam War era.

This kit in the large 1:35 scale represents the UH-1B, one of the first production versions of the type everyone calls the Huey. The 1:35 scale is a rewarding one for helicopters: the model is big enough to be completed with a crew and equipment, yet it still fits an ordinary display case. The contents of the box, the number of parts and the number of marking options are given in the enclosed instructions and on the box itself.
The Bell UH-1 Iroquois was the first production helicopter of the US Army with turboshaft power, and that is what made it the workhorse of air mobility. The UH-1B version followed the first UH-1A series: it received a more powerful engine and a reworked cabin, which raised the payload and let it carry more troops and cargo. The family is recognized by its two-blade main rotor with a stabilizer bar, which gives the Huey its typical beating sound. In Vietnam the UH-1B was used to carry infantry, supply isolated posts and evacuate the wounded, and it became the basis for later, longer and more powerful versions.
With a helicopter the interior decides the result, because it is visible behind the large glazed areas and the open doors. Finish and weather the cabin and the cargo area before you close the fuselage. Mask the glazing and paint it together with the model so that the frames are in one shade. Last come dust on the underside, soot marks behind the exhaust and wear on the step edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
