This is not a vehicle model or a set of figures on their own, but a diorama building accessory in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Gecko Models. It represents an improvised US Army field command post from the Vietnam War period, a makeshift shelter complemented by the typical equipment of a field staff. It serves to build a believable setting around vehicles and figures and to give a diorama a story.
Field command posts were the nerve centers of front-line operations during the Vietnam War: they were put up in a hurry out of whatever material and sandbags were to hand and provided communications and coordination of units. The set contains the elements of such a scene, such as the shelter, sandbags, field furniture and signals and staff equipment, which bring a base to life and tie the surrounding elements of a diorama into one whole.
These are injection-molded plastic parts glued with liquid cement for plastic; sand the joints and unify the surface with a primer. Weathering techniques pay off here: washes, dust and mud help to suggest a makeshift field post out in the terrain.
This is a diorama accessory, not a vehicle or figures on their own. Paints, glue and a diorama base are not included in the package.
