A 3D-printed resin set of wooden transport pallets in 1:35 scale from GINGER CAT. The manufacturer gives five pieces in the package. Pallets are a general-purpose scenic accessory with no tie to a period or an army, so they come into their own in a military depot, on a loading ramp and in a civilian scene.
A pallet is one of the most useful items that can be put into a diorama. Stacked, they fill an empty corner and make a wall; laid under crates or under drums they lift a load off the ground; and broken, they explain that work was going on in the place. Five pieces in the package allow all three uses at once. Wood moreover takes any treatment: a new shade, a grayed one, a sanded one or one soaked in oil, so five identical castings turn into five unlike pieces.
3D-printed parts are small and brittle: separate them with a fine-tooth saw or with nippers and level the remains of the print supports with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not hold. Before painting, spray a thin coat of primer, as a heavy coat would drown the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
