A set of four Kriegsmarine ship anchors in 1:350 scale from Spalah. 3D-printed resin, an accessory for a ship model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a model, not a ship kit: a set of anchors of the kind carried by Kriegsmarine vessels, in 1:350 scale. The box states four pieces. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Spalah, which 3D-prints its parts from photopolymer resin and supplies them with print supports. An anchor is a small part in a very exposed place on the bow, so any shortcoming of a plastic part shows the moment the model is turned.
The anchors of large warships sit in hawse pockets on the sides of the bow and are hauled up by the anchor chain through the hawse onto the deck. The shape of an anchor differs with every naval tradition, and in the Kriegsmarine it has its own characteristic proportions. On a model the anchor is the feature which, together with the chain, completes the bow, the most photographed part of a ship.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut the print supports away and sand the marks with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the anchor separately and fit it only onto the painted hull, so that the transition into the hawse pocket stays clean. A dark wash will bring out the outline and a fine dry brush will lift the edges of the arms. The anchor chain is offered by the manufacturer as a separate item.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base kit, the anchor chain, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
