Replacement parts for building the American carrier-based attack aircraft Douglas A-4 Skyhawk in 1:48 scale. The set replaces the cannon barrels at the wing roots, which in a plastic kit tend to be solid and coarse. The box gives the Skyhawk from Hobby Boss as the target kit. The QuickBoost brand belongs to the Czech maker Aires Hobby Models and produces simple replacement parts for which it is enough to cut away the original plastic.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was a small, light carrier-based attack aircraft with a delta wing that did not have to fold, and with an exceptionally low empty weight. It was designed by Ed Heinemann and named after him. The armament consisted of two 20 mm cannons at the wing roots and pylons for bombs and unguided rockets. The aircraft served the US Navy, the US Marine Corps and a number of other countries from the 1950s.
Wash the resin parts in warm soapy water before gluing so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface, as otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut off the casting block with a saw or a cutting disc, never with nippers, which will break the resin. Sand the mating surface flat and glue the part with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy, because cement for plastic will not hold here. When sanding resin use a respirator or sand wet; the dust is not good to breathe.
