Plastic model kit 1:48 A-4E/F Skyhawk from Japan's Hasegawa: the light carrier-borne attack aircraft of the US Navy.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk carrier-borne attack aircraft in the E and F versions, in 1:48 scale. The manufacturer also lists it under the number 07221. The package holds 186 injection-molded parts and decals; underwing stores are not part of it, so anyone who wants to arm the aircraft will reach for accessories.
The Skyhawk was designed by Ed Heinemann as a deliberately small and light carrier bomber. It fitted onto a carrier elevator without folding its wing and earned the nickname Scooter among its crews. The A-4E version received the more powerful J52 engine and five pylons in place of three, and the A-4F added the dorsal avionics hump behind the cockpit, which tells the aircraft apart at a glance. Skyhawks carried the main weight of naval attack work over Vietnam and then served for a long time as trainers and aggressor machines.
The small parts and the setting of the flaps and slats want a little practice; this is not a first model in 1:48. Glue the plastic with a thin cement for polystyrene and paint and fit the cockpit before you join the fuselage. The gray and white naval scheme comes alive with the panels tonally varied. Apply the decals onto a gloss coat and fix them with a semi-matte one. For weathering, a wash into the engraved lines and a fine exhaust stain behind the nozzle are enough.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
