Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory propeller set for models of the twin-engine Martin Baltimore bomber in 1:48 scale, intended for Special Hobby kits. It is not an airplane model but a replacement for the propellers from the original kit. The parts are made by 3D printing, as stated on the box.
The propeller is the most visible part of an injection-molded model and at the same time the hardest to mold. The blade has to be thin, twisted along its length and free of a parting seam, and a mold manages that shape only with compromises. 3D printing makes such a shape in one piece, so the profile of the blade comes out finer and the edges sharper. On a twin-engine machine that shows twice over, because both propellers are up front on the model.
The Martin Baltimore was a twin-engine light bomber built in the United States to a British order. The British and Allied air forces flew it in North Africa and in the Mediterranean, where it attacked ground targets and patrolled over the sea. The machine was powered by two radial engines, so the propellers are among its most prominent features.
This is an accessory for the build. The Special Hobby base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
