Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the light Northrop F-5E fighter in 1:48 scale, manufacturer's part number AR48S02. The box describes it as the Tiger III, the upgraded standard prepared for the Chilean and Moroccan air arms by the Israeli firm Israel Aerospace Industries: the machines received new radar and avionics. The package holds plastic, a photo-etched fret and a decal sheet for the Chilean Air Force and the Royal Moroccan Air Force, each set separately.
The F-5E Tiger II came out of an American competition at the start of the 1970s for a new light fighter for allied nations. Against the older F-5A it received a stronger pair of General Electric J85 engines, a wider wing with leading-edge root extensions, maneuvering flaps and an onboard radar. It served in dozens of countries because it was cheap to buy and to run. Chile operated its F-5Es from the late 1970s and later had them rebuilt to a higher standard; the Moroccan machines went through a comparable update.
Finish and paint the cockpit and the instrument panel while the fuselage halves are still apart. Sand down the joints at the air intakes and on the lower fuselage and rescribe the panel lines with a scribing needle. Mask the canopy in advance and glue it with a cement for clear parts. Spray a gloss varnish under the decals, otherwise a silvery edge will show on a matte surface. Take the color scheme and the placement of the decals from the instruction in the kit, as the Chilean and Moroccan machines differ.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
