Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Hawker Typhoon Mk.IB fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale from Hobby 2000. It is a reboxing of the proven Hasegawa plastic supplemented with quality Cartograf decals and painting masks. The Car Door version of 1942 captures the early production form of the Typhoon with side cockpit doors that resembled the doors of a car.
The Hawker Typhoon was a British single-seat fighter-bomber powered by the massive Napier Sabre H-24 engine. Originally intended as a fighter, it ended up making its name as a feared attack aircraft, destroying ground targets, armored vehicles and transport with bombs and unguided rockets. The early machines had a framed cockpit canopy with side doors, the car door, and a flat fuselage spine; later versions received a bubble canopy with a better view.
The proven Hasegawa plastic builds pleasantly: separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with a thin liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting and spray the camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats. The masks supplied will help with the sharp frames of the glazing and with the black and white identification stripes, and the Cartograf decals stand out with their fine registration. Pick out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
