MiG-15 gun barrels PRINT 1:48 (Eduard) is a set of 3D-printed cannon barrels that replaces the plastic parts of the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set, not an airplane model. It holds the cannon barrels of the MiG-15 in 1:48 scale made by direct 3D printing and is meant for the MiG-15 kit from Eduard, whose plastic parts it replaces. The printed barrels have a perfectly circular cross-section and open muzzles, that is, two things that are only hard to achieve on an injection-molded plastic part with a mold parting line.
The MiG-15 carried one 37 mm cannon and two of 23 mm, placed in the lower front part of the fuselage. The set was tuned to destroying bombers: heavy shells were to suffice with a small number of hits, which against nimble fighters meant a low rate of fire. The protruding barrels are among the first details the eye notices on a finished model.
First separate the parts carefully from the print supports with a sharp blade and level the cut faces with a fine file. They are glued with super glue, and a small amount is enough for the joint face. Do not breathe the dust when sanding and work in a ventilated space. Fit the barrels only after the fuselage has been sprayed, or they are easy to break off.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not contain an airplane model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
