An injection-molded plastic kit of the Fennek light armored reconnaissance vehicle in 1:72 scale from the Trumpeter brand, specifically in the version used by the Dutch army. The model is glued and painted. Check the exact package contents, the number of parts and the number of decal schemes on the box.
The Fennek, in full the light armored reconnaissance vehicle, came out of a joint German and Dutch program and serves with both armies. It is a wheeled armored vehicle with four-wheel drive, a low silhouette and an emphasis on covert reconnaissance: the crew consists of only a few men, and the main working tool is an extending sensor mast with a thermal imager, a daylight camera and a laser rangefinder, which makes it possible to observe targets from cover without the vehicle having to reveal itself. The design puts an emphasis on low noise and a small infrared signature. The German and Dutch versions differ from each other in armament, in the arrangement of the equipment on the roof and in details of the fit, and this kit corresponds to the Dutch variant. The vehicles proved themselves on overseas missions, where they carried out reconnaissance and observation duties.
In 1:72 scale the parts are small, so separate them with a sharp scalpel and glue them with liquid cement in small doses. Finish and paint the chassis and the wheels before you close the hull up, because afterwards they are hard to reach. Attach the extending mast and the antennas only at the end of the build. Apply the base coat with an airbrush over a primer, bring the panel lines and the gaps of the hatches out with a dark wash and pick the edges out carefully with a dry brush. Do mud and dust effects very gently in this scale, because coarse pigment would visually destroy the scale of the vehicle. The model looks good on a small base with a piece of a field track.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
