MiG-15 OVERTREES 1:48 (Eduard) is a package of the plastic sprues of the MiG-15 kit alone, with no decals and no instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
Overtrees holds only the plastic sprues of the MiG-15 kit in 1:48 scale from new molds of the Czech maker Eduard. There are no decals and no instructions in it, and no photo-etched parts or masks either. It is a way to get another airframe of a type you are already building: for a second marking option, for a diorama that calls for more machines, or for an experiment with cutting and reworking for which it would be a shame to sacrifice a whole boxed version.
The MiG-15 was the first Soviet production jet fighter with a swept wing and in Korea it became an unpleasant opponent for the air forces there. It was powered by the RD-45 engine derived from the British Nene, and the armament was made up of one 37 mm cannon and two of 23 mm. A set like that was aimed at bombers and was less practical against nimble fighters. The machine became the most widespread jet fighter of its day and was built under license in Czechoslovakia and in Poland as well.
The building sequence matches the boxed version of the same model; the package itself holds no instructions. Finish the cockpit before you close the fuselage up. Polish the seams on the smooth metal airframe until they are invisible, as under gloss and metallic shades the surface gives away every scratch left by abrasive paper. Decals and any masks are bought separately for this package.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Decals, instructions, glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
