MiG-25RB in 1:48 is a plastic kit of the Soviet reconnaissance and bomber aircraft of the MiG-25 family, in NATO code designation Foxbat-B. The set from the Kitty Hawk brand builds the MiG-25RB and MiG-25RBT versions and adds photo-etched parts and resin parts to them.

An extensive plastic kit of the Soviet reconnaissance bomber of the MiG-25 family in 1:48 scale. Besides the plastic and the clear parts the manufacturer adds a photo-etched fret and resin parts: exhaust nozzle ends and covers, landing gear legs, bulkheads and cassettes of the camera bay, and two standing figures. The decals offer six marking options, among them machines of the Soviet, Indian and Bulgarian air forces.
The MiG-25 came about as an answer to fast American reconnaissance and bomber aircraft and to this day it is among the fastest aircraft that have ever served. Reconnaissance versions of the R family carried cameras and reconnaissance equipment in the nose instead of a radar. The RB version added the ability to bomb from great height and at high speed to the reconnaissance role, and the RBT version received equipment for electronic intelligence on top of that. Aircraft in this configuration served with the Soviet Air Force and with foreign operators, and it was said of them that they were easier to track than to catch.
The model is large and demanding: the big fuselage surfaces call for careful filling and sanding, so try building the joints in stages and dry-fitting them. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts first, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding resin. Bend the photo-etched parts over a metal edge. The natural metal finish of Soviet aircraft is best done with lacquer metallic paints over a perfectly smooth base, panel by panel in slightly different shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
