1:48 RAF and FAA (Fleet Air Arm) Aircraft Serials: 8 inch White is a sheet of aircraft serial numbers, that is of white letters and numerals to be made up, not a sheet for one particular machine and not a sheet of national markings.

A sheet of aircraft serial numbers of the RAF and the Fleet Air Arm in white. It is not a model and not a sheet for one particular machine: what you get is a set of characters from which you make up the serial number of your own aircraft yourself. The manufacturer states at least four of each letter of the alphabet and at least six of each numeral, with factory and field variations for some of the characters, and five sets of ROYAL NAVY titles for Fleet Air Arm machines on top of that. According to the manufacturer the sheets have on average 550 to more than 600 characters depending on the scale and the color. The characters were first drawn by hand and then traced digitally, so that they match the original painted forms.
The serial number was a mandatory marking on the rear fuselage of RAF aircraft, and with the Fleet Air Arm the ROYAL NAVY titles were added to it. This set is drawn to an eight-inch character height, which was the usual size for serial numbers. The forms of the characters were laid down by regulation, but in field conditions they differed from the factory form, which is why the sheet has two variations for some of the characters. White was used on dark camouflage schemes, where a black number would have merged into the background.
Apply the characters onto a dried gloss coat and cut them out one at a time; trim the carrier film close to the artwork so that no edge shows. Mark the spacing and the vertical in advance with a faint line or with tape, because with made-up lettering the error accumulates. Once it is dry, varnish the whole thing to gloss or to flat according to the scheme.
