A plastic kit of the Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk helicopter in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM in the form of a machine of Ukrainian military intelligence (Defence Intelligence of Ukraine). The model captures a particular Black Hawk with an unusual dark blue and black finish and Ukrainian markings, footage of which appeared in 2023. The set offers two marking options for this machine.
The UH-60 Black Hawk (factory designation Sikorsky S-70) is an American multirole transport helicopter that replaced the older UH-1 with the US Army from the late 1970s; the UH-60A was the first production military version. The conventional layout with a single four-blade main rotor and a tough structure give it high survivability. The example in the service of Ukrainian intelligence went through certain modifications and wears a conspicuous dark civilian finish.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Before closing the fuselage, finish the cockpit and the cargo compartment, which in this release can be built with seats or empty. Mask the glazing and glue it with an adhesive that does not fog clear plastic. Apply the dark blue and black finish in fine coats and watch for smooth transitions; assemble the rotors carefully for the sake of alignment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
